Cool, sounds like there will be plenty of 5ers available that I can tow with an SRW. In all honesty, a DRW, as much as I would like to have gotten one, was just on the verge of impractical for my needs. I do like the look but given it wouldn't even fit in my driveway, no point. Once the truck is paid off and I live outside of the city, perhaps I'll trade in for a dually then. At that point, I may be able to afford a 5th wheel that will require one. Thanks for the help fellas!!

You will be fine towing anything but the very biggest 5ers out there. Mine is almost 40 ft and about 13k as I tow it. Zero problem. Under all my weights with plenty of room to spare. Would it be nice to have a drw truck. Yeah it would but so would an extra 60 grand. Not gonna happen as like you its my daily driver.
Have fun there isnt much you cant get.

I wondered the same thing, but now that I've towed our new 37' 12,000 lb 5er in heavy winds for 12 hours I am very impressed with how well the truck tows the 5th.

I was towing a 33' travel trailer and using a Hensley Arrow, which apparently made the trailer tow like a 5th wheel. I don't think so Tim.

I have a F250 with a 6.0L and have towed my fiver from one coast to the other and back. RV weighs 12,500# loaded and never thought two more tires would make any difference in towing. It might be a necessity if you were hauling a lot more weight, but you should be able to shop for a fiver and have plenty of choices that your truck can tow.

My SRW F350 doesnt seem to mind the 35ft Everest I tow. I believe your just going to be fine if you stay within limits.

my 5th's GVWR is 12,500 but I tow at about 11,500 or so.

I had 0 issues on my last trip, including passing another truck/trailer on a hill hitting 65 easy going up it.

Last I had heard he bought a 5 year old duramax dually. I just checked the archives, his last posting here was in 2013. I don't miss those days.
