I finally got a few pics in an album. This is a 51 F1 that my father was restoring. He passed away recently and i picked up the truck last week. this truck has been in my family all of its 60 years starting with my great grandfather.

Very nice. Be sure to keep us updated on your progress. I love seeing trucks stay in the family like this.
Oh, and welcome to FTE. The folks on this site are amazing. They can answer about any question you have on getting this beauty up and going. Shoot it looks like you just need to throw the radiator on and turn the key... then you would have a hot rod until you get the front sheet metal on.

That looks like a great start! You could have a driver in no time.
Welcome to FTE!

Thanks guys, I plan to try to start it this weekend. The radiator is in now. My dad had just rebuilt the flathead and the carb so maybe it will fire up.

Nice looking truck, make your dad poud. Don't want to hurt your feelings or anything... But make sure you have a clear title in your name before you do much... the way it sits you can have it inspected easier to obtain a title and/or if you have to get a bonded title it will be cheaper at this point.

Yea it is in good shape Jimmy. Only one door and the hood need any work. The other parts have been faired and primed and are ready to bolt on and paint.

Looks like a solid start. And you even have the rare rear bumper and a radio. Good luck with carrying on the family tradition.

Arrowheadfred - I will be going stock since all of the pieces are there, exept the ones I overlooked when picking it up. I am making a list and will go back sometime in the next coule of weeks to loof for the MIAs. This was one of about 12 retorations that my dad had going.

Thumbs up

Your great granddad, granddad, dad, and now the stewardship of this old truck passes to you! It's a good looking truck and unlike 99% of the guys on this forum, it's been in your family since new. Appreciate what you have and lean on the guys in the forum to answer the questions you will have as you get it back on the road. Congratulations.

Looks like your family history project could shape up into something nice. What else did your Dad have going besides this all in the family restoration?
Pics of those?
Did you ever help your dad with it while he was alive?
