KrautBurner - The "system" was purchased in 3 parts. Headers - mufflers - exhaust tubing The "FE" engines were: 352, 360,361, 390, 391, 427, 428. The 429 & 460 are different animals. The exhaust was purchased for a '75 F-250 2x4. The glaspaks & piping should work. Moving in a week or so, need them sold or they go per pound with the 390 basket case.

Bjorn - As far as I know, it's a standard Ford dual exhaust system < drivers side crosses over to the right side - run back side-by-side - mufflers - left side crosses over the rear axle - both pipes exit behind the rear tires / in front of the bumper. The Thrush glas-paks are 3"x 30" and should fit any standard pickup. The cross-over is to protect the auxillery gas tank. I had planned on dual exits in front of the right rear tire with twin 3" tips on each with an "X" or "H" pipe in front of the mufflers = HP gain. The parts are loose, on a shelf in the basement. Headers are bright silver ceramic coated.

 

George, I have a 1976 shortbed 4x4 f100 with a 360, will the long tube headers fit my rig? If so, I'm interested

George, what is salvagable of the 390? intake, crank, rods?

The 390 "FE" I have is a basket case = engine block complete w/ pistons, crank, cam, lifters, push rods is on a rolling stand - the heads complete with lifters, valves, etc - intake manifold with 600 CFM Holley. Also have the flywheel / clutch / starter / PS pump / 90 amp alt / dizzy w/ capadapt / newer wires / extra parts. The header system will fit on a 2 wheel drive truck - the mufflers will fit any 2 1/4" exhaust and the pipe fits s atandard bed or can be shortened to fit a short box OR be modified to exit in front of the rear wheels.

 

Is it still available? If so I'll take the exhaust system. Let me know, and I'll get you shipping details.

 

Mainefrenchman - The system is still on the shelf. I need to find a box that the headers will fit into. Not sure what the shipping cost will be. Moving in a week or so / Soc.Sec. check comes on the 3d / bills paid on the 4th / rest of the month to wait for the 3d. The ceramic coating on the headers still looks good. 2 or 4 tips ? "Tips" were SS air cylinders / better than auto parts.

The rest of the system is in smaller pieces than the headers?

 

The headers are just the biggest/bulkiest parts. I can ship the system in 2 boxes - separate or together as 1 item. UPS or FedEx ? They may take 3-4 days transit. I can send specific shipping info when shipped. If still interested - reply and I'll give you a phone number & a time to call.
