Bronco rear bumper
#16
I used a contour bumper off a mid-80s Bronco. 'had to modify the Bronc's bumper brackets by redrilling the holes after extending the bracket with 3/16ths plate. They were about one inch too short. FYI.... also kind of a PITA because FoMoCo went to metric nuts... 18 mm.
License plate lights? They're supposed to use two light assys with the large sheet metal nut and topped off with a chrome light cap with the "Ford" script. IIRC, I think DC offers 'em for $47 each assy (EEEK!). I managed to cobble up a set from four different JYs... found the caps in the glove box of wrecked 78. EUREKA!!!

Eureka! - California state motto - I have found it! / I'll betcha you didn't find or know the following until now:
2) D3AZ-13564-A .. License lamp Lens/Bezel / Obsolete
Last MSRP each: $16.05 .. dealer net cost each: $9.63.
Fits: 1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco and 1973/78 Galaxie/LTD/Mercury Marquis Station Wagons.
Someone was lookin' for these awhile back, I found 150 NOS at Ford Dealers/obsolete parts vendors.
I also found some of the lamp assy's NOS

(sigh) And I repeat for the nth time, there is no difference between the Styleside and Bronco contoured rear bumpers. Only the brackets are different.
The problem is, since all rear bumpers were optional (but not on Bronco's), the bumper you have may not be Genuine Ford.
Y'all are gonna need two Ford parts catalogs to verify this info ( I believe me, who else does? ): 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog and the 1973/79 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog.
Both of these are available on CD's from hipoparts.com and...the reason you need the car parts catalog is...
That's where Bronco parts are listed.

Thanks ND. That is quite the plethora of reference information you possess. We always appreciate your input... and leads!
In terms of the brackets, the Bronco version (at least the ones I got) were super-short. Hence, 'had to extend them enough to line up with the frame holes. Finding a rear contour bumper took forever cuz (IIRC) trucks didn't come with stock rear bumpers until the mid-80s and even then most opted for the dock/step bumper for towing. Back in the day, frame-mounted hitches were not the norm.
