Have you asked them about the DEF tank? A couple of other guys through the winter had faulty tanks and sensors setting CELs. Replaced and all was well.

Aside from the CEL, how is the trans shifting?

2.5 hours later & leaving the shop without the flash. The dealership could not get it done- multiple straits with multiple computers.

I'm just out if court now (work) and am calling the dealer. I'm pissed as all can be and sick of it.

Sgt93,

My light came back on also, so they worked on it for a couple of hours. They ended up ordering a new NOx sensor (which is backordered). My service writer said that before Ford said to wait for an update, they had changed a couple of sensors and that did the trick on at least one. On another note, the shifting and driveability is nicely improved.

Check out the other thread on this new update. EXACTLY the kind of stuff I am talking about here. They expect us to waste over 2 hours of our time and think nothing of it, yet love to give us a hard time about getting the update if we can't show them a code or provide a neck brace after a test drive because it didn't act up while they were driving it...

Absolutely ridiculous...

I am keeping my posting to the new TSB release thread after this last post. The drivetrain does feel better so far, you are absolutely correct. I called my dealer and first explained that what I was about to say was not against them. I told them the light came back on again and the service Manager said he was going to speak to the Diesel Tech and call me back ASAP. The SM called me back a few minutes later and asked if I could have it there Monday morning. They said they are going to give me a car to drive (they don't have a truck for me to drive) and will keep the truck until it is fixed. The tech believes that if he changes out a sensor etc, it should fix it and I agree. I like the way the dealer is treating me and I appreciate it. It is obvious that this issue goes beyond a "flash" and there are parts that need to be changed out. This will be my last trip over this issue and I made it clear. My boat sits in the garage yet to let me cast a line on the water and will remain that way for who knows how long.

Seriously? Going to court over a CEL associated with a NOx sensor? I believe you will lose that one. I can appreciate you are annoyed but just drive the damn thing and take it in when you have time and don't need the truck for a bit. This is getting blown way out of proportion IMO. Not saying it's not annoying, but that's all it is - annoying. It's far from catastophic. If this is the major issue we have with these trucks, I think we should be happy. Such a minor thing...

Andi don't care how much money someone spends on something, you can't expect it to be perfect. If you wanted zero issues, you should have bought a gas truck, and certainly not a diesel with a first year motor.

I mean heck, even space shuttles aren't perfect and look how much engineering goes into them.

I see a small mole hill here, not a mountain.

My 2 cents, which I appreciate may not be appreciated.
