Possibly buying this Powerstroke. Need opinions(with PICS)

I talked to the guy, and he said he has only driven it about 50 miles since he got it, and he has no need for it. According to him it drives fine with no problems, A/C heat and everything works. The ad says he wants $6400, but he needs at least 6k.

It's an XLT with vinyl floors, and the cloth seat with fold down center console.

I was wondering what you guys thought, and also what kind of mpg I would be expecting. -Thanks

I dont think it is an XL with the 40-20-40 seat, chrome grill, and chrome side molding. I think it is a XLTA w carpet delete. If it looks as good as it does in the pics, then yes it is worth 6400.

As for milage it depends on the gears and type of driving.
4:10s w an auto thru town will get 12-15mpg and an all time high of 18mpg
3:55 w a stick will get 15-18 around town and up to 22 on the highway

That is w me driving and actually trying to get milage

Ya I thought the cloth seat in an XL was odd. It could have been swapped at one point though.

He said it was automatic. Could it still have 3.55's with the auto?

The side molding is a dead give away for me that is is an XLT

Yes. ou could get an auto w 3:55 or 4:10. 4:10s were more common of a gear since the truck was designed to haul

I'll ask him to check the axle code. 20mpg would be fantastic

It's priced a few hundred dollars below blue book, so what's the problem? You're one of those guys that calls up people to offer them absurd offers that are half or less of the actual value, aren't you?

Oh, and the word you were looking for is absurd

Brad has it nailed with the side molding... In my part of country that is truck is worth the priceif its represented correctly... With good maintenence she should give you years of powerful service for a fraction of the price of what you pay for a newer one....

If you get a deal worked and bring her home get some pics up ASAP... Sure looks like a nice rig..
