It shouldn't be with a flat tappet cam.

A 3-jaw gear puller will remove the drive gear from the distributor.. have done this numerous times.

I got the motor in and running yesterday. Runs great except for an irratic idle. It is surging about 100 rpm. I am thinking all of the oil the other motor was blowing may have clogged the iac up a little bit, and possibly the air filter. I am getting codes 18,41. I also think it may have clogged the O2 sensor. I also need to re-check all my grounds again because of the spout code (I have had that problem before and tracked it down to a bad ground). Other than that it runs really good. Thanks again for all the help.
