i have not seen the roll n lock stuff before. It looks pretty good actually.
Would be nice to be able to easily incorporate the open/close into the switches, instead of remote only.

Are you finding this convenient, or did you even install the tailgate locking mechanism? I would like to be able to stick the remote on the inside wall of the bed so when I open the tailgate, I can press the button to roll back the top. Otherwise, I have to carry another remote, if I understand it properly.

By the way, I got my F-350 CC short bed, 6.7L PSD, Lariat Ultimate package, FX4, black interior the same day as you - 3/31 ! Way better than my '06 Lariat 6.0L PSD which I traded in.
If you have the Lariat Ultimate package then you must have the tailgate step. With that you can not use the tailgate lock on the roll n lock. They install it with the no lock option. You can operate your tailgate as you like and if you wanted to mount your remote in side, no problem. The Roll N Lock still locks to the side rails and with the motor off, there is no way to move the cover. I also installed the PopNLock tailgate locker so when my doors are locked, so is my tailgate. Works great!

Nice to know as I do have the tailgate step. I also have the camera which precludes the use of the electric lock on the tailgate though. Too bad as the electric lock on the tailgate is one option that I think ford should add.

I am looking at a trifold, I do not want a bunch of snaps. There are more than one maker of trifolds and I am trying to see all before I make a decision. Travel a lot without my 5er so need to cover items in the box.

Not true. I have the camera and the PopNLock works just fine as long as you get the right one. PL8522 if I remember right. It has been redesigned to work with the camera. I checked with PopNLock to confirm this before I bought and it works great. I hooked it up to the passenger side door lock so it takes a double push on the remote to open but locks with the doors. I wished it was included too but a hundred dollar bill will remedy the situation.

For what it is worth I just ordered a Paragon folding aluminum cover, $499, I too was not willing to lay out $1000+ for the RollnLock, but it seems to be the top o da line... If interested check out Paragon's website.

Ride is a 07 F-250 HD SD LB

That is good news! I will definitely be adding that, as I always forget to lock my tailgate. In addition to the tools I carry, the sales guy at the dealer warned me about keeping the gate locked, as apparently the removable tailgate with the camera is a high theft item. Who would have guessed. Thanks for the great info

I know its not a tonneau cover but I love my Diamondback HD cover, but it is probably overkill and a little expensive for most. They offer them coated in Line-X now, pretty slick looking. Maybe more of a contractor type cover but it'll hold 1600lbs on the top! They also offer a light duty version without all the tie down cleats. I was sick of my tonneaus being destroyed by heavy rain and snow.

I use a Truxedo Lo Pro and love it. The tailgate can be closed before or after the top, it works both ways.
