FICM Power supply

Here is my FICM story.

KOEO = 48 V
at start would drop to 35-40 V
return to 48 within 5 minutes.

Took it to BPD and had them do the FICM repair. They indicated they replaced a couple of transistors and soldered it up.

Reinstalled

Now on the first start when engine is cold, volts drop to between 35 and 45 Volts. But every time after that during the day, the voltage does not drop. It remains steady 47-48.5 volts.

I called BPD and they indicated i might be able to replace the power supply part of the FICM will hopefully fix it.

Does this make sense? and if so does anyone know the part number of said power supply? BPD is going to call me in the morning with the part number, but i just want to cross reference and make sure.

thanks for the link. Ordered the half shell from Tousley Ford. will hopefully be here before the weekend so i can try the swapout when i have time at home. It's going to be a busy weekend. I am NOT looking forward to having to remove the FICM again. What a pain in the . That will be me I'm sure.

Half Shell received

Received the Half Shell finally on MOnday. I was hoping for last friday so i would have the weekend to do it, but no such luck. Didnt get home until after 9:00 pm last night. Decided to pull the FICM. It only took me 30 minutes to pull it this time. Amazing what you can do when you done a task once before. Half Shell is swapped. I will reinstall tonight and cross my fingers that all will become good in the world of my 6.0.

Success

Re-installed. All is well and correct in the world now. 48 V at all times. Just have to send the half shell back for the 150 core charge.
