hpop fitting-o ring replacement question

hpop fitting-o ring replacement question

my new hpop decided it wanted to start leaking from one of the high pressure fittings.

i bought the 3 o ring kit today (w/ loctite)

do i need to heat the fitting to remove it?

no, not the non serviceable plug.

im talking about the high pressure line fittings in the pump

I suppose that your new pump has the stock fittings and not the SD pumps (quick connect), rigth? if so, When I changed the o-rings I didnt heat them, I only used two 11/16" open wrenches to do it, its a PITA because is tight there but doable. good luck.

BTW I didnt use loctite in the fittings.

one of the o rings on the hpop line had split in 2 and was causing long cranks and an oil leak i chased for a week

went to ford this morning and bought new o rings and replaced them

and i have a modded 17* pump but i used my factory obs fittings.

Ok, thank you. So you dont heated them and you dont use loctite, right? and just curious what was the o ring that had split in two? the one to the front or the rear one? In mine the frontest was the bad one.

i used a tiny drop of loctite(just in case) and it was the oring closest to the fuelbowl
