e350 to f350 instrument cluster swap
I have a Class C motorhome w/ E350 Chassis. It has the 7.3L w/ Banks non-wastegated Turbo package (3" Banks exhaust and Transcommand). My trip meter button is broken and half the lights do not work (probably just burned out). I would like a tach and found a cheap ($15) 1993 F350 Diesel instrument cluster and want to know if this would be a simple swap. I assume I will have to run a wire from the tach sensor (on the IP) to the cluster. Are the rest of the pins on the harness the same? Does someone have a schematic or wiring diagram for the two clusters? Any help would be greatly appreciated. What about speedo programming? Thanks.

Don't quote me until I get home to check, but I'm pretty sure that in the 93 and later setups the tach signal goes to the computer, which then feeds the module in the cluster. I don't know that the same signal could be fed directly to the cluster. At the least its something to look in to.
I have the schematics for 94 models, which are nearly the same, I'll look when I get home.
As for speedo programming check out this: 1983 Ford Bronco PSOM picture | SuperMotors.net

First, what year is your motorhome? Some of these trucks had mechanical speedos, some electronic.
Second, the tach sensor isn't "on the IP" at all, if you don't have a tach now, you likely don't have a sensor, or a spot to put one. That would require pulling the IP, and the gear cover, which can be a royal PITA if you bump or remove the gear. (At that point, basically you would be looking at quite possibly having to tear down the front of the engine to retime the IP drive gear.
