latest effort on my daughters 71 F250

Well have been focused on the 1971 DT1 motorcycle restore which is now basically complete!! yes!!

So now moving on to her truck! The front end is coming apart for all new components. Im thinking of having the Radius arms and tie rods and new springs powder coated to match but we'll see.

Tranny is all done, C6 all rebuilt with heavy duty clutches etc and a 2400rpm Stall converter.
Motor should be done in a couple week. Went with a 390 rebuild that should put out around 440hp. Making this beast NOT a daily driver.

Woohoo!

Nice...it's cool that she's right in the middle of the project.

Is that the Yamaha over to the right in the second picture?

Hey Steve,

Here are the pics of the 71 Yamaha DT1-250. This was a hugely fun project, 14 months from start to finish!

Wanna hook up for breakfast before the show in the morning?

Your daughter is a lucky girl to have such a great father to restore a truck with.
I'd always wanted to do somethin' like that, it creates a bond like no other between the two child and parent. What color is that red called? I like that shade of red, almost like a dark maroon metallic, or something? Glad to see you went with a FE. Standing by for more pictures. Hope the breakfast was good.

The color is Red Metallic from the 2010 Lexus line, I think they called it Manteca Red??

My daughter jsut said she wanted it metallic red and my body/paint guy found this shade. We love it!

Glad to meet you and your daughter.
Awesome that she's into it.
I don't know of to many things that bring a family together more than working on cars/trucks.
All the best to you both
