yeah, that whole site is pretty cool, it has a lot of information on various techniques on saving fuel, and why the do or don't work. There are a lot of useful "tidbits" there.

If you want to make your 300 more powerful, here's what you do!

Rip it out and instal a 390.

There you go! Three times the power!

I appreciate everyone's advice! I think I am gonna throw a 460 in there. I was playin' with my dad's Bronco with the 302 and you just can't beat the sound of a V8 and the power of a big block. Here's my next question. Like I said, I wana throw Ford's 460 big block in there. What all would I have to do? New engine mounts and a transmission?

I have 92f150 300 6cyl. My problem is very high idle & over htg. It all started after it started running very sluggish one day . I did a tune up Plugs, wires Dist. cap, rotor button, filters, etc. didnt help. Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter checked vac. hoses ok. took intake off cleaned good. now runs great except very high idle & over heats . took t-stat out still over heats. whats wrong. Replaced air bypass valve , switched egr valves with another i had. could a chk valve be clogged causing these problems. the chk. valve down line from egr .

jeffbjones,

It's probably best to start your own thread about your problem(s), more viewers, and of those that are viewing, you'll most likely have a very knowledgeable (expert) person help you out.

That said, I think you're suffering from a pretty massive vacuum leak, which in turn, is causing your truck to run WAY too lean. Lean motors run hot.

Start a new thread and see where it goes.

Bob

Ummmmmm Jeff, you're still in this thread.

Go to the page that has all of the topics listed, then click on "New Thread", give it a title, and then post your question.
