truck cut off

Well i was driving home tonight, cruising at 50 and the truck just died, I looked down and saw that i had no rpms. i pulled over and tried to start with no luck. So i change the cps and started right up. Ironically the truck has 175000 mileage and when my previous truck hit the same mileage the same thing happenned. I was wondering if that was causing my poor fuel economy?

It could effect the MPG if the CPS was sending the wrong signal to the PCM. Let us know how it does.
