2005 5.4 hesitation on acceleration

My F150 has 100,000 miles on it and hesitates and bucks on acceleration. Auto zone pulled a code which I can't remember what it was but did say it was the throttle body accuater was stuck open. I pulled the throttle body and cleaned it with throttle body cleaner put it back on. No change. Does anyone out there have a cure?

we need a code to help, so when it does it again pull the code and post it and we will see what we can do.

Go back to auto zone the code may still be stored and they can tell it to you again.

5.4 bucking, hesitating, stalling...

Hello all,
I'm not sure if I'm doing this right as I just joined. I have a 2001 Expedition with the 5.4 in it. About 6 months ago it started bucking while trying to maintain speed on the highway and seemes to lose power when trying to take off from a traffic light. I have no cel so there are no codes...so far I have had replaced in my truck the following: Coils, spark plugs, tps sensor, egr valve, tested the fuel pump, replaced 2 more coils that I was told was bad, brought it to Ford yesterday where they did 5 hours worth of testing to tell me it was coils number 2 and 7..well 2 and 7 were just replaced and is still bucking, jerking, hesitating and will even stall on occasion (seems to be when breaking and turning at the same time, like turning into my driveway or a parking spot) also on occasion I seem to get a rotten egg smell...I looked for a glowing under my truck and found nothing...it seems to be even worse once it warms up and really bad when it is hot out and also when running the AC...please I am so all out of ideas, I don't know what is left to do, oh and the pcv has been checked for vacuum leaks as well as the MAF cleaned....I'm fresh out of ideas, I've dumped alot of money into this truck and have even had Ford look at it...what else could it be, I need my truck I'm a single mom with 5 kids and this is breaking us. Thank you

sounds like the catalytic converter, maybe have a local shop use a temp gun and get a reading from it but you may have better luck with the 97-03 forum area
1997 - 2003 F150 - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
best of luck and if you end up needing cats keep in mind aftermarket ones are WAY cheaper than OEM.
