suspension/lift

Has anyone bought a lift from riffraff or one like it, I want a 3 maybe 4" lift with 33 or 35, but I want the best ride on top of it. I had some other ones in the years back that were a joke. Anyone with any other good lift kit ideas or pics of trucks with a 3 or 4" lift or ideas? Still cant decide on wheels either?

If you only go with a 4'' lift youll wish you went with a 6''. I have a 8'' BDS and I like it. Most of the ride comfort comes from shocks you are running. Bilstein has the best shocks from what I gathered from everyone on an old thread I posted. BDS also has a life time warantee, if you break something on the lift thell send you a new one for free.

My truck has a 3 inch shackle kit which lets me fit 35 bf goodrich ats with no trouble. Mine is a 350 though and sits a little higher than a 250. My dad has a 250 with a 4 inch superlift and 35s that fit perfect. His truck rides excellent and even better than stock. The shackle kit on my truck is the worst ride ever and throws me around all over the place over every little bump.

The Icon lifts that Clay sells are well known for their ride quality. When I got my truck it originally had a 4'' superlift. There were 10 front springs, and it rode like a rock. The 8'' skyjacker that is on my truck now rides almost as good as stock, but I want to go a little higher and have a much softer ride, so i'm building an air ride suspension.

Just like John said, alot of how it rides is also the quality, and valving of the shocks you have.

Icon also has some other options, you can get there front spring eye drop brackets and longer shackles, and 4'' blocks for the rear. You keep your factory springs front and rear. Their lift like that I believe is 4 1/2 inch.

Or you can just do leveling shackles in the front, and you could clear 35x12.50 tires

Keep in mind these trucks are heavy, and the softer the spring, the quicker down the road they will sag. If you plan on hualing good loads in the bed or trailers with heavy tongue weight, with the soft springs you may need to invest in some helper bags for the rear.
