I hear ya Ronin, the shifts seemed better today Ill see how it goes this week I might keep it on the 275 for a while. Id also like to try the new 250 cause I didnt like it at all before.
Ya, traction/ladder bars are soon to be added...

Sam; have you tried the reg 210? I doubt ill use the 210 tow anytime soon.

This is an often overlooked, and very important piece of advice.

With any high HP tuning, axle wrap can be fairly nasty; especially so on F350 SRW trucks with 4" factory blocks in the rear. Many times axle wrap bucking is mistaken for jerky shifts.

Any tune from the 250 and up do require a bit of learning time in order for the "feel" of the transmission to become optimal. With that said, the tunes in the latest update do require a little less time for this to happen.

i tried the 210 but after trying the 250, its too tame.. funny 210 extra hp is lame compared to 250 extra hp..

now I am running the 275.. just stomped it to cross traffic and sucked the filter minder cause I'm using the stock filter.. gotta get the aFE thing quick!..

That's exactly what I told my buddy who runs your 275HP tune most of the time, he was really concerned about the shift quality and I told him the difference between a truck with traction bars and those without them at these power levels is day and night. The OUO traction bars are a little pricey, but worth their weight in gold and with axle-wrap and tire-hop now non-existent all the power gets to the ground, where it belongs. Can't wait to get mine, they're on my LONG list of mods in progress...

How do the traction bars work when towing? When the rear squats a few inches doesnt that change the pinion angle?

ANYTIME you add load the pinion angle will change so the truck needs to be set up for how it's driven the majority of the time, so if you use your truck to exclusively pull a trailer, then you would set the traction bars up for that particular load scenario I s'pose... I am by no means a suspension expert of any sort so we relied on technical assistance from TruckToyzPerformance and OUO, the manufacturer of the traction bars we used...

Torque isn't just a problem with these trucks at these power levels when flat-footing it from a dead stop. Even at the stock power levels there's a whole lot of drivetrain movement that can benefit from the addition of traction bars. My buddy describes it best as stating that the truck feels like it's on rails now and when it turns it pulls you through corners, instead of feeling like the **** end was gonna slide out with even the slightest addition of input from the skinny pedal...

Long story short (TOO LATE!) they're an excellent investment!

I found that my happy medium is with the 250hp tune. I think the 210 is a little mild for me, and I like the earlier TC lockup. The 210 tow is a great tune as well, firmer shifts than the 210 reg, and also an earlier lock up. The 275 for me is pretty harsh in terms of shifting. I personally don't mind personally, just when i have other people in the truck. I don't like having to explain why my truck slams through the gears. For fun I ran the 310hp tune... let me tell you, that is another animal. It is so scary fast that I feel like if you use that tune often, you will most likely destroy something. I could literally come out of a turn, lay into the throttle and smoke through the tires for hundreds of feet. It felt like a sports car... yet I was quickly reminded of the 8000lbs behind me.

I agree, the 250 tune is a nice balance. Ive run the 210, 250, 275, 300. I've not tried any higher than 300, maybe one day I will play with those as well. What do I want from my truck? I want a good daily driver that does well both in traffic and in the intestate as well as towing. This means I need a tune that is "durable" enough to take a heavy load without me feeling like it's too fragile to hook up to a trailer without tuning down, as well as being fun to drive and giving good mileage when traveling and response when in town. I found the 210 to be too boring, and the 275 too "fragile" feeling when under load. The 275 also is a bit jumpy when I come home, since I live up a gravel road that's a bit washed out and pretty steep. For me, the 250 has some smoke when I want but is tame when it needs to be, isn't too jumpy, loving the new early lockup stuff, and even sounds better than the 210 to me in the intake and exhaust note. I'd recommend it as a good "hot" tune for those of us who work our trucks pretty hard, not just hauling the family around. (which is more important a task, just not what I do most of).
Everybody has their favorite for different reasons. Yours will differ.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this and I misread the date. I really thought we were discussing April of this year.

I know this may be a really stupid questions, but do you have to charge the battery in the tuner by plugging in a usb cord or does it get charged from being plugged into your truck?
