the aam axle im looking at i believe has 373s so as long you can stuff 373s in the dana i should be good then if i were to go that route. man those mounts looked like they glued and welded them on... the new ones look sharp. gonna work good for ya. nice find. this looks like its never been used. blows me away you can find part on a 30 year old truck that flawless. what color are you going to paint your crew.

The AAM can come with 3.73 or 4.10 factory. I believe mines 3.73 which would work out great because I wanted to try that ratio first and see if my truck will be ok with it I'm thinking I may need to go 4.10 in the end but we'll see. They do make a 3.73 gear set for the Dana 60 front so all in the clear Them old leaf mounts were a real pain getting off a good hour or more cutting and smoothing then had to lay some weld on the drivers side as I didn't like the pitting formed under the mount. Got it smoothed and put in so its under its own feet again well mostly. with the 40's I didn't think a 16.5 rim would clear them rotors but they do by maybe 1/8" that ranger tail panel is quite the find it has some scratches Dents and Alittle peeling on the bottom of the wood overlay. But overall decent driver quality. I may be able to get the rest of the trim package as well from same truck. I don't think ill be using this panel but couldn't pass up such a rare gem. Last 2 on eBay went for 900+ and other 500+ I'm going to try trading for some parts or sell it most likely. Not sure what kind of paint ill have it done in either flat black or a charcoal greyish color. Who knows yet what color will you be painting yours? Got some pics of the AAM under frankenford.

Caliper clearance only about 1/8" with 16.5 rims ill be running 17-18" when I get final rims and tires.

wow they barley clear.... that looks good. really???? thats crazy about the tail panel. i had an almost spotless one that came off mine. and let it go with that blue truck. wish i would have known. live and learn i guess. the aam looks pretty stout sitting under that pig. and it makes good parking for the jeep is that a camero in the back ground there.

I didnt think the rims would clear but I had to try and lucky for me they did. Im thinking the AAM was a good choice. I was concerned about ground clearance on the pumpkin being a 11.5 ring gear but with the 40's its not to bad I think I can shave some of the bottom off the axle like they do on 14 bolts. That sucks about your tail panel you had I must have completely missed it in your thread or I would of tried to buy it off you. Picked that jeep up for free on the side of the road brought it home charged the battery and it works I remember I used to pull the motors off them and coast them down hills with my friends years back. Fun little toys especially when you hook up 18v to them what a difference that makes. THATS NO DAMN CHEVY TURD lol ill never own a Chevy I'm a old ford truck and mopar car fan. That's my 73 challenger was my daily driver for the past couple years rain snow or shine. Up until last fall it ran great but now its backfiring through the carb on heavy throttle timings good thinking either wiped a cam lobe or bent pushrod I have a msd distributor to throw in it and see if that clears it up if not it has to be internal checked or replaced every other possible cause. Small update got my lower radiator mount Alittle closer to being done still got to make end caps that will tie into the radiator support on the ends and weld it fast to the support then start on the top mount and I can run all the plumbing then.

ohhhhh god im sorry. idk how i made that mistake. beautiful car mr. lol very sharp. you must have built that car as well huh? thats a perfect place for a chevy right there. under a good old ford... im excited to see how your radiator mount turns out all finished. i found a 4 core for 275 witch is way better then the 650 i thought i was going to spend on one. there back ordered until the 6th so i have to wait a couple days but then im going to start putting my front end together. i wish i would have taken a pic of that rear panel, i dont think i ever did. it was on the crew. but i switched beds with the teal truck and sold it with that. i went back yesterday and was looking at your ic. i know i asked before but thats a dodge ic right?

The Intercooler I used is for a 99-04 super duty but try to stay in the 99-01? Range as some of the newer ones 02-04? Could have a aluminum and plastic IC and not all aluminum. from what I read so look before you buy. It should fit perfect in your radiator support as you see tucks into the support with some clearancing to the lower support. And the in/outlets are at a good spot and not in the way of anything from what I can see so running the piping shouldn't be to hard I think I can use the 2nd gen dodge Ic piping just need to cut the tubes some and get the right angled boots and should turn out nice ill be starting on that soon as I finish the radiator mounts.

Some progress from the weekend got the lower radiator support made and got it fully welded into the core support. Final test fit and it looks good just need to clean up the welds some and the lower one is finished then onto the top radiator brace. Before I do that though I'm going to finish the cutting and fill it in with a piece of metal I did for clearance of the IC to tuck it as close to the support as I could so I don't have to trim as much off of the grille and inserts.

Tacked in place

I've also heard of and read about using the first gen Ic and radiator I was trying to get a buddy with a first gen to take measurements for me to see how they would fit in my truck but he was to busy and I wanted to keep moving forward instead of waiting til he got a chance to measure his. so I went with a 99 7.3L super duty Ic I have heard that the first gen setup is Alittle small and might have cooling issues but I haven't seen proof so it may just be false can't believe everything you read on the Internet. I hope my radiator is up to the task of cooling my motor if not I may look into the first gen radiator more. I used 7/8 round stock and drilled and tapped it for my upper IC mounts and I had 2 bushings off my old radiator I had to replace in my 01 dodge. They worked perfect in the upper IC tabs I relocated. The lower mounts I used 1" square tube capped the ends and they are almost a perfect fit in the IC lower mounts here's pics of the lower SD IC mounts. Ground down my radiator support welds some and final cut the holes I made at the bottom to clear the Ic more just need to fill it in with some plate and then onto the upper radiator hold down hope to finish the plating this week.

See the cut I made under the ends of the IC to tuck in closer to the radiator hope I can still fit a AC radiator between them

im betting you dont have any heat issues on the road. are you running the mechanical fan you already have or? my yoda likes to play stupid on the trails every once in awhile, but it never gets over 210 so i havent changed anything. i would say your ic turned out fantastic really looks great. u going to run it in between the two ic and rad or where? how does 95 bucks sound for a 2000 ford ic? sound ok

Thanks for the compliments on the Ic I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the rad will cool that pig enough don't want to do all that work for nothing. Ill be using the stock mechanical fan as electric ones may short out and not up to the job needed done. I'm going to try putting it between the Ic and radiator hope I still have enough space if not ill have to find another spot for it. 95 bucks ayy I'd say you have yourself a new IC to mock up. I forget if I paid 80 or 100 for mine. Guy upgraded to a full banks turbo and IC setup so I bought his stock SD IC. Started filling in my radiator support today at the bottom. Hope to be done tomorrow or atleast be done welding then just clean up the welds shoot some spray paint on to keep the rust away and bolt it back on the truck and start in on the plumbing. This weekend ill be going to ford nationals hope to bring home some parts if not then ill be buying either a dual disc valiar clutch or the parts needed to build my front Dana 60. Any opinions to which to buy first?

yea still lacking alot of tools but making do with what I got. No normal stands get even close to reaching my frame I should invest in a set of high jack stands but money seems to always disappear on parts instead. I can't use them ground Hawgs anyways they are only c rated tires I need atleast a d for this frankenford. I mostly got them for mock up with clearances
