Truck won't start or drive after warmed up
So I have asked for help on a couple of forums now with no help at all. I will copy and paste my last post. If you have any questions that may help diagnose this please ask away.
The truck is a 93 4x4 auto with 190k miles. It will idle all day but when put into gear dies right away after it has warmed up. I can move it and drive it around the block before it warms up.
I can go outside if it has not been running for a few hours and the truck will start right up as soon as I turn the key and will idle for days. The problem is after the truck is warmed up and I attempt to drive it, it shuts off as soon as I put it into gear. Even if I have my foot on the throttle during the shift.
After it cuts off it will not restart until it has cooled down.
While it is trying to start it has spark and gas, I have checked the spark and you can smell the gas. I have also tried starting fluid into the throttle body and nothing.
I have replaced the Idle Air Control Valve, this fixed an issue I had with lobeing at start up but not the rest.
I am assuming there has to be sort of sensor or something very simple that I am overlooking.
The truck does not run hot or overheat.
I am at my wits end with it and if I can't figure it out it will probably end up being scrapped or parted out.

This is a common occurence, mostly related to the ICM or TFI, however you you want to go. Yours should be a Remote-Mounted TFI, located on a aluminum heatsink close to the fenderwall of the driver-side fender. Dizzy mounted TFI's were prone to overheating, hence Ford introduced the remote-mounted TFI.
I would check that and go from there. If you buy a new one, be sure to get a Motorcraft OEM to replace it with. There are 2 types, a Grey one and a Black one from what I have read regarding them. Lazy K, Subford, and I believe RLA2005 have mentioned this in the past.
There are diagnostics for the ICM, but I can't remember off the top of my head.
I think I'm on the right track with this diagnosis. Hopefully someone will chime in with another solution, but I believe your problem to be the TFI.
EDIT: Just read DBGrif91's post concerning the MLPS. I didn't think of that. Nor did I ask if you have checked for codes. Both good ideas!

I have not checked codes but will be ordering a ODB 1 today.
I have replaced the TFI its been a couple weeks now not sure what brand. It was probably the Autozone special. It was located on a heat sink on the divers side fender wall.
I don't believe it is the MLPS. If I allow the truck to idle for an hour without changing gears, turn it off it will not turn back on until it has cooled.
I looked at the price of the CTS and ACT and since they don't cost that much maybe $10-15 each I may give them a try.

If that truck will not start with some gas or fluid poured in the intake then you could have a weak spark or perhaps the engine is already flooded with too much fuel. You already changed the TFI, I would start leaning towards a stator (PIP) in the distributor.
As Bill pointed out a faulty ECT or out of whack ACT can be another cause. If any of those are telling the PCM it is some extreme low temperature the PCM will start dumping in fuel to compensate.

I am having the same problem with mine.
It won't start after it gets warm, it has to cool for a while then it will start.
I also have a high idle problem too.
I am going to try the ACT and ECT
This is the ambient air temp and engine coolant temp sensors right?
Also where are each located.
Thanks,
