death in the family at Stockton Wheel

Just called there and got a message that there's been a death. They're apparently closing their doors over this.

Got a pair of custom wheels from them last year and was set to buy a second pair for the rear of my F-350 but now I may be out of luck.

Was hoping to say goodbye forever to those darn widow maker rims.

Anybody know anyone who makes rims like those that Stockton builds?

They call them their series 24 and they're 16 x 6" tubeless rims. The ones I got for the front are absolutely gorgeous.

They seriously are going to close the business permanently? I thought you meant closed for business due to a death in the family, like a couple weeks or something like that. No idea about where else to go...

That's what I was hoping--closed awhile for grief--but I've called all available numbers I have for them and the message is the same: we're closing our doors and ceasing operation.

Must have been sudden--guess all deaths are sorta sudden--but I just called there on Monday hoping to speak with Frank and make that order for two more rims. He was out running errands and I've got a feeling all this happened shortly after that 'cause I've been calling ever since and couldn't reach them at all till today.

My god this gets worse and worse. Wonder if the "Frank" you mention is the same Frank I've worked with?

Over the phone he sounded like an older fellow--but he always seemed good-natured and jolly in all our exchanges.

Maybe he was just the patriarch and Frank Jr was his son?

Any way you look at it, this is pitiful.

Thanx Jaye for piping up.

Tragic. Nothing is more devastating. I've had to deal with this personally and profesionally. Pray for them all.

I just found this on another web site... Check out #6 Stockton Wheel Closed for Business

It says that "Frank Mauro Jr's death was reported in the paper today (Stockton Record).

I used to work next door, father in law still does, and I guess Frank committed suicide yesterday. He had also stopped all shipping going in or out, and let on to his employees that buisness was shutting down, earlier in the week."

I have a full set of custom series 30 Henrys currently in production for my 54. Although I don't know what I'll do now, my problem is nothing compared to the loss this family is suffering. Pray for comfort and peace for them.

Just tried the web site and it just stays on the home page. Looks like it's in the process of being taken down. Sad.
