I was listening.
So who's gonna get the franchise.
Cuban? Oh God, I hope not!
The Garvey group? I'm not sure they can muster the backing, but it would be interesting. Generally I haven't seen players make good owners.
I sure would like to see someone that has respect for the farm system.
I lost interest when they started purchasing the "new hot thing".
I want it to be my team, not some a'hole that played in NY last week.

Amen to that Marc! Bring them up right and build a dynasty, the good ol' way! But with free agency don't count on it, we are subject to members of the "me" generation,......What can I get out of it, it is the modern thought process.....Players playing for the money, not because they love to play.

What's ironic to me is that the Dodgers, who pioneered and at one time had pretty much perfected that type of organizational structure are now sadly lacking in the development of players in their farm system. I imagine when free agency became a reality that forced a change in where a lot of money gets spent, but they just don't have the good players coming up through the ranks anymore.

Free agency,another symptom of decay.
There you go again Paul jerkin my grumpy old fart chain.
I was gonna say something else but I'll self edit. Speaking of NY.

Couldn't agree more.
That is also why I identify with the team, They're MY guys that came up through MY teams system. I love them for that. Not any more. It sucks.
I would like to see MLB take it over completely, with the McCourts completely out of the scene, and then put it up for bid like an expansion team would be. With what is left, that is really all they are.
As much as I loved Garv and Hershiser and crew, I am not convinced they would be good owners.
Regarding the farm, I would love to have a private lunch with Lasorda right about now. I would even buy.
