the 2011 FTE "Wild Trucks" round One POLL
Here we go again! As always - BE SURE of which one you picked before clicking the mighty "VOTE NOW" button! (seriously)
* If you don't see eight trucks above, refresh the page. There should be:
- 82racin
- cdrmotorsports
- jfritts
- 503racing
- 76f350spercamprspeal
- oreocreaming
- AlaskanEx
- f100racing
Previously I used to post a set of big pictures after the poll itself, but this time around I think I have a handle on the info density here...
Some of these images may take a bit to load, BRING SOME POPCORN!
I've brought the contests into the era of motion pictures this time around
Single vote, anonymous, lasts for thirty days, lots of sweet rides -
As soon as possible I'm going to open a round 2 entry thread.
~ Now how on earth can we choose between them?
~Wolf
PS: I know, the contrast got messed up in some of the pictures. I didn't see it until too late
PPS: Most of the pics are set to a 20 second delay
(which is going to be even better!)

Great job wolfie!
I wonder who will think has a better take on things as far as the polls go. We have two different styles, which makes for a unique experience, to the FTE users.
Oh, CDARMOTORSPORT's truck isn't a '95, it's a '99. Which are two different body styles. (I've worked with his truck before)

Too late now! If I fix the pic I still can't edit a poll
It's interesting though...
You leaf through a magazine and see small differences in style even though all the articles are in THAT MAG's format. Ya know?
-Then you go to different mags and you see bigger differences...
Style is important because how one person sees everything can sometimes be actually traded with somebody that see's it some way else...
What would life be like if everyone was named "Mister Andersen"
I got in this anyway because I've always had a kind of pioneering spirit when it comes to what we can do on the internet. The kind of rocket scientist who keeps asking himself:
"I wonder what this button does?"
At first all I could think of was plain Jane polls - with all of the pictures in the post underneath. I forget when I realised that pictures could be put in the polls, and graphically matched in size and style. I wanted something like a uniform style and quality that I could easily stick to.
~The BOMB was when I began to play around with animated large images! For a while there was even a java image in a few of our sigs. I'll have to re-figure out how I did that and post it here one last time. You drag your mouse over it and it had ripples that looked like a pool of water, but java has to be enabled to see it.
Without detracting from the contests themselves - it will be interesting to see what I think of this year
WELCOME TO THE MATRIX!!!
Me personally, I'm planning on having some perfectly legitimate and hopefully helpful FUN!

All right - here it is
This "TOY" uses ten+ year old java, so it isn't current state of the art. If you have java enabled in your browser it should run; I SEE IT
(If you see a grey rectangle and the bottom left says "DONE" refresh the page)
<applet code="PoolMenu" CODEBASE=http://greywolf.clubfte.com width=450 height=105>
<param name=image value=https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=5167&pictureid=23855>
</applet>
If you run your mouse pointer through it you will see an interesting effect. It got complaints though, because people were saying they:
" ...didn't have the latest java, so it didn't work..."
(IE: "BAD Wolfie! Wolfie is being unfair...")
I had to quit using it in my sig
Oops!
PS: I know - you can play with that for hours...

Some of these pictures worked out so phenominally well that I was even suprised. Take 503racing for an example -
The launch and splash sequence was so irresistable that I completely spaced on the engine and interior photos (I probably could have fit them in some way)' FOUR images seems like a good base-line though. The more frames there are the longer it takes to load.
f100racing's pics I didn't realise were going to come together like they did until I began to add the tech info. When I did that, each page became matched to the info that was being added to it in a way that really carried the points across in a specific way - so that was a great series.
Again, I can't post what isn't supplied. I'm not going to make up stuff that isn't there because I don't work for the National Enquirer
If I had it to do over, I should have made four frames out of oreocreaming and had a few lines of the info appear on each "page" of the image. Hind sight is like that - next poll I'll remember about it.
PS: For those down under: National Enquirer = "The Trailer Trash Times" They are the kind of paper that will publish articles about space aliens landing on the White House lawn...

Maybe I should clarify that in the rules, but oh well. The more images there are - the more I have to pick from. The more info there is - the more I can add in.
I usually end up going and looking for stuff in profiles or wherever. I shouldn't have to.
Brag about the truck in the entry post!
PS: Looks like some people need to rustle up some votes, or oreo IS going to cream them...
