What is the resistor mod?,My F350 is showing a 0476 code will the mod get rid of it?

 

The code that is set on my setup is a P0475 - Exhaust Pressure Control Valve Error. The EBPV is not detected so the code is set.

P0476 is Exhaust Pressure Control Valve Range/Performance. Same control valve but a different error code. I believe in your situation the EBPV can be stuck or not fully opening or closing when requested to.

Here is what I found when I did a quick search........

"Someone said to use a 1 watt 470 ohm resistor to eliminate the P0475 code. Just put it across the two wires with it unplugged. You can buy one for the solenoid but a resistor sounds cheaper. Just make sure to insulate it somehow so it doesn't short to something.

That’s funny, no problem and glade to be of assistants. That thread was exactly what I was wanted/looking for before I did mine as well. I am also going to solder up and inline resistor for my AIH as well.

Used the same resistor as posted in that thread Ducci linked to in post #21. Bought a pack of 5 at Radio Shack for $1.05. Worked like a charm!
