anybody have instructions on removing the steering wheel airbag on 2008-2011 trucks.

Apparently there are 3 clips that need to be depressed to realse the unit from th esteering wheel.

Obviously the column cover has to come off behind the wheel.

first, pull the fuse and start a 30 minute clock.

Then take the column shroud off. If you have a tilt wheel, you might have to take the tilt lever off (I don't, so it wasn't an issue). This has 3 screws on the bottom, and then takes a little bit of firm prying.

Once the 30 minute timer goes off, take a compact mirror and a small flathead screw driver. Use the mirror and turn the wheel to see the three clips. Use the screw driver to pry the steel clip inward (toward the column axis). This takes a little extra manual dexterity, because you'll be doing everything backwards from what you see.

once you get past the three clips just pull the module out and unplug it.

 

I've tried every size screwdriver and punch in my toolbox, and have even practiced on the new airbag that's going in, but I can't get them to pop.

Very frustrated. Please help.
