hey guys whats up im new to the site this may have already been asked before but i havent found the forum . ok here it goes i have a 99 ford f250 extended cab long bed with a 7.3 diesel i want to know if i can put a 2000 f250 crew cab on my 99 chasi and just put a short bed on it, would it work or are all the body mounts going to be different the reason i ask is because i boughta the 99 and its got almost 3000 in back fees and the only down side is that the 2000 crew cab is that its a salvage tittle cab and its a crap load of work but im up for the chalenge

What state are you in and why do you have 3000 in fees?,sometimes dealing with salvage titles and vin number changes are more trouble than the labor of swapping cabs etc.

Body mounts are in different location from supercab to crewcab.

I have been told by folks in the "know" that this is tough, even if the "donor" truck is a 7.3 there are mid year changes in harnesses and such that make it a REAL tough issue (thank your computers). In the old days you could do all sorts of crazy swaps (In my mom's garage, at 15 I put a Dodge cab on a Ramcharger frame with nothing more than vice grips, screw drivers and several axes, to cut the rotted Ramcharger body off ). I have been told it is NOT worth the potential issues.

Correct, your mounts and frame aren't going to line up.
