NEW CRAZY PROJECT!!!

so starting today began work on a new project of mine!!

the project: 1956 Ford F100 powerstroke.

the materials: 1956 F100 body, 2008 F450 frame, twin turbo 7.3L powerstroke diesel.

we just started work on this today and havent a clue what to name this project! so this goes out to all of you powerstroke fans, WHAT SHOULD WE NAME IT??

if you have an idea for what you think this project should be called, post it in a reply to this thread. And we ( i mean "WE" as in me, and my crew of friends that are helping me build this at my shop!) are also looking for other ideas on what else to do/add to this truck, so if you have an idea or comment about the project, post a reply!!!

thanks guys cant wait to hear what yall come up with!!!!!

So you plan to slap a 56 F100 body on a 08 F450 frame? Is this a wide body frame? Guessing you'll be doind some stretching of the body???

It sounds like a cool project.

If you gotta extend the body a lot on the 56 I'd call it "Stretched and Stroked".

thats a great idea for the name!!! lol and yes its a wide body f450 frame, but we already got the f100 body stretched and widened to fit the frame. its actually the cab and front clip of an f100, and the bed is mainly a modified 8ft f450 bed that we just cut down, and molded the f100's bed around. so most of the bed is a 450's bed, but now that we have smoothed out all the welds and stuff, it just looks like a really long and wide f100 bed!!! its really a sight to behold.

so far we have the engine and trans mounted, both the turbos mounted and the aftercooling system, and right now like as im typing this, we are about to marry the body with the frame, to see if what we did. . fits!!!! so throught the next about 6 hours, i will be posting "LIVE" up-to-the-minute updates on the progress we make tonight. so keep an eye on this thread if you are interested in the build!

Where is the build thread? Sounds like the "EcoSlick" (60s f100 with an ecoboost on a new F150 frame).

Would like to sub the build thread.

I like the idea. I wanted to Powerstroke my "77 F250 trailer special, but ended up selling the truck...
I'll have to think of a name....
Good luck, sounds like a fun project.

Ive toyed with the idea of putting a PSD in my '65 f250... Im not sure if swapping the body onto a new frame is any easier then modding my '65 to hold a psd haha...
