camper specials with sway bar

if you have a 73-79 2x2 with a 460 can you check where the sway bar goes. mine bolts between the radius arms and l&l long tube headers hit them. i need to know if threre is a sway bar that goes in front of the cross member (which i dont think a 2x2 does) or is there a long tube header that will work. thanks roscoe

My 2wd camper special has a sway bar in front of the front wheels. It is bolted to the frame rails. With this setup there would be no clearance problems with headers. I cannot however tell you if its aftermarket or just modified. I don't have a picture easily available at the moment. How is the sway bar that you have attached? The one that I have looks like your average setup with rubber bushings mounted to the frame rails and the end links attached near the lower shock mount. Maybe you could use a bar off an newer truck/suv?

My 77 F350 also has the sway bar forward of cross member and is a factory setup.

Here is a picture of mine that includes the sway bar. I do remember seeing on header information that it would not work on sway bar equipped trucks. However it seems there are a few different styles.

1975/79 F100/350 only.
Two different factory installed sway bars, two different mountings.

Roscoe, see my post in the SoCal chapter swap meet thread.
