Oil and coolant puking from degas bottle

A van I have been driving at work, with a 6.0, suddenly started puking oil/coolant (gray cream) out of the degas bottle. When I say puking, I really mean it was barfing a lot of this stuff all over the ground in a big puddle. By the time I realized it was happening it had used enough engine oil to where the dip stick didn't register any oil in the crank case. The gauges looked fine when I shut off the engine and it was running great too. The temp gauge did rise after shutting down the engine but still stayed within the operating range.
Does this sound like the oil cooler let go? Or head gasket? I am kind of thinking of the oil cooler as the truck was running great and was not showing excessive temperature on the gauge, which to me seems like a head gasket is unlikely... But I ain't no mechanic.
I think it is a 2006. I have been told that this engine hasn't had any mechanical issues in its 101,000 mile life so far. Yeah, that's right, 1000 miles after the warranty is over.
Any thoughts?

Your oil cooler has burst internally. Its now mixing oil with your coolant. The oil side has more pressure then the coolant side. You have to change out the oil cooler and egr cooler and flush with simple green HD until its clear. Then add coolant.

You'll also need to change all the hoses.

I did simple green until i was blue in the face, still got a little oil floating in the coolant until I did the vc9. That really cleaned the system. Wasted coolant by not cleaning it right the first time.

That sucks! You may look into a BPD oil cooler so you won't have this problem again.
