I pull a 36' TT, weighs around 9K dry....I haven't weighed it, but I'd say ready to camp around 10.5K - 11K, and around 300 - 500 lbs in the bed, plus a wife and two dogs....Pulls great.

IMHO< the 3.31 gears come with a 2WD F250 truck, and you get 3.55 gears with 4WD. At any rate, my friend and I both have 3.31 gears and pull 5rs. We made a 3000 mile trip to Yellowstone last September and we were both delighted with the trucks' performance - 68 MPH (According to GPS) on cruise - 11.2 MPG for the round trip Actual). Remember, peak torque with this engine is at much lower RPM than previous engines. Also, tihs truck has 2 overdrives, both 5th and 6th are overdrives and the torque converter stays locked up when shifting between the 2 gears. Compared to my 04 6.0L, it's night and day different (and I thought the 6.0 was great coming from a gasser)!

Point of fact only, 2wd or 4wd, 3.31 and 3.55 gears are available in either diesel truck. Option packages and wheel sizes will affect which ratio will be available.

Regards

As an owner of a 3.31 4x4 6.7L, I can confirm Rick's statement as fact.

Fellas,
I am looking at purchasing a 2012 F250 XLT FX4 with 3.31 rearend. This particular truck is available and falls right in my budget AND is exactly what i want minus the 3.31 rearend. My preference is to have the 3.55 for a future 5th wheel/tractor gooseneck trailer. But after reading this, sounds like the 3.31s is not a problem..also, i will seldom tow anyway.

They will sell this for about $40K. Thoughts????

I pull my 39 ft Montana with the 3.31 grears and have not had any problems. I am sure yours will work just as well too.
