I have a 88 F150. Was driving it and all of a sudden acted like it had no power-wouldn't accelerate above 30mph then died. Now will turn over, but won't start. It's getting fuel, tested plugs and coil -getting spark. Am at a loss, any ideas?

 

How much fuel are you getting? I had the same problem when my front tank pump died. It would run for a while but not over like 30 or 35 mph, then it would die and not start for a while.

What kind of pressure are you getting on the rail?

 

Pressure seems fine plus tank had a leak a few months ago so replaced it & pump. When I try to start it and give it gas it sounds like it wants to start, but not getting spark.

 

Maybe the catalatic converter plugged up.

 

i had an 87 f150 plow truck that did that. i was plowing some heavy snow and it lost power and struggled to stay running and finaly died.. turns out i blew a head gasket. i would check compression if i was you
