We’ve been here before, but wondering if anyone has visited in the past year?

I haven't been out there recently, but as an aside:

When it came time to name our Nest thermostat in software, instead of "Home Thermostat" (or something equally mundane), I named ours Zzyzx.

I'm relatively certain, in a Nest Labs database somewhere, our place is the very last entry.

It's a lot like Tahoe and pretty close as a Cessna flys. Alpine Lake near Bear Valley on CA 4 way east of Stockton just before Ebbetts Pass.

This is Ebetts Peak which is up the hill on CA 4 from Lake Alpine. Picture is from the east on the downhill towards CA 89 to Markleyville or 395.. My brother is up there, off to the left, not up top. We are told there are lots of folks up there.

Looks like a fun hike, we need a hill like that out in the cornbelt.

Oh, and Pop wisely started the N.Cal version of this thread a while back when we were discussing Splitsville, CA.

LOL Wouldn't surprise me a bit that they use those names when they split California.

I thought the RR tracks would have been a clue. i think its the only town where tracks still run down the main st.

Was it the RR tracks in the pic or my last two clues that pinpointed it for you?
