Only good Allison I know of is a V-12, liquid-cooled, 28-liter, aircraft powerplant.

The 1000 series is a line of Allison automatic transmissions for on-road trucks. All are 5 or 6-speed electronically-controlled units and are manufactured by General Motors' division in Indianapolis, Indiana as well as in Baltimore, Maryland.

So, what yer sayin' is that the Allison isn't really an Allison, it more like a "Chevillison".......since GM is really building it.....

I assume that 1000 series is the one found mated to the Duramax?

GM is building ALL Allison transmissions.

Allison is a division of General Motors.

Ooops. I spoke too soon.

Allison was owned by GM from 1929 to 2007, when they sold it off.

I do have a friend in Oregon with a special order Ford SD F-450 4x4 7.3 that he ordered with an Allison. It is a 99-00 He likes it, but it is the ONLY one I have ever heard of. EVen the sales folks didnt know it was an option, he had to walk them thru the options.

The other thing is GovLiquid gets top dollar, they have a GOOD audience, FYI dont get your hopes up EVEN if you want it.
