Sorry I cant tell you how this holley will work on a 351 windsor. I would think that if you have a stock motor and a set of headers a 4 barrell carb will work ok as long as you dont try to over carb the motor. Probably in the neighborhood of 500 - 600 cfm. Try to keep your foot out of the back 2 barrels for better milage. I think I might get better milage out of my 352 FE if I went to a 4 barrel and was gentle on the loud petal. But hey Im not to worried about milage as this truck is not my daily driver I just call it that for now. I have a 98 F150 that I do drive daily last I checked I was getting around 13 to 15 around town. Now that one I do worry about milage. It is dueled off from the cat back and has a cold air intake. I have not chipped it but I should. Sorry I do run on.

Lucky day. Last week I went to the Portland Auto swap meet. On the way there my brother remembered a wrecking yard he had visited some 20 years proior. We found the yard and I found the two more of the 16" x 5 on 5 1/2 wheels that I was looking for. I didnt even have to look around the yard they were stacked just 10 ft away from where I parked. I will take pics of them tonight as I am taking them to be sandblasted and powdercoated tommorow.

Well after getting the tires removed I determined that 3 of the wheels had a bead width of 4 1/2" and 2 measured out at 5". That means 3 of the wheels are probably pre 57. I talked to jhooch at Les Schwab tires and he said should not make a big difference. Ill run the wider wheels on the rear. I dropped them of to be blasted and coated this am. They will come back a satin black probably close to stock Ford color. Here they are after the tires where removed.

Checked the wheels they all looked pretty straight. The lug openings have not been rounded out so they should be good to go. I found a few minutes to finish up the oil bath air cleaner conversion. The prototype is now ready.

Air intake holes are all cut out.

Bottom air filter contact plate in place. I will leave it to be removable for clean out. Bugs and what not.

Here it is with the air filter in place. Ready to be sanded and painted. Now I need two more that are in better shape to convert.

The rims look good.

And that air cleaner should flow a whole lot more air now. That should make your FE breathe a little better and still look cool.

Wheels are blasted and coated. Just snapped in the $2 a piece hubcaps found at the Portland swapmeet. Next I have to find some radial tires comparable to 7:50 x 16 trying to stay away from the bias ply tires if I can. Just like the radial ride better.

Shot some black paint onto the old oil bath aircleaner housing after giving it a complete sanding and cleaning. Just have to order the 352 repop sticker and the side fender trim plastic inserts that say four wheel drive.

The parts turned out great.

I don't blame you one bit for wanting to run radial tires. Bias ply's look cool but if you actually plan to drive the truck radials are the way to go.

Thank you. This is just the start for this truck. When my 63 resto is done then this one will get the full frame off resto.

The tires measure out to 30" suppose to be close to the 7.50x16s. I was trying to replicate the way it may have looked on the truck when the farmer first picked it up. Minus the paint of coarse. Hopefully its a close look to stock form.

The left side oil service cap is off painted in black and drying. Thats why its not on the valve cover. Just need my 352 air cleaner sticker. I have to get those orange plug wires changed one day to they look kind of strange in there with the gold and black.

Man you sure know how to make an old truck look good.

Those rims and tires just look right.

That FE looks great. It might look a little better with some different plug wires but it still looks good to me.

Nice work on this truck too, Buzz44. It came a long way to get it to where it is now.

Friday I took the truck down to the exhaust house. Got some new pipes and muffler installed tried to make it look as stock as possible still using a single rear pipe.

He set up 2 into one in front of the muffler. Muffler is a flowmaster. Outside the truck you can tell there is a V8 under the hood. Inside you can still hold a conversation even without sound deadner. This setup is good for lowend torgue. Not so good for hp on the high end. I will not be racing the truck so I have no problem with it and they did not come with duel exhaust in 65. Still has a thoaty V8 rubble outside of the truck which I like. If anyone is interested I will take a full underside pick of the exhaust system. I like the setup. Dave also angled off that collector on the header that was right next to the drive line to give that pipe some more clearance on the drive shaft.
