danger your younger than me and dude i still do that to this day pick up a tranny onto my chest put it on the shaft slide it into the pins and bolt it up by myself but im 6'2 245 bench press 300 :P why look for a frame when all you have to do is wire wheel it brace it using 1/2in or 1/4in plate and weld it and paint it would be much eaiser and cheaper

yes plating would be the cheaper way to go except i dont own a welder and dont know how to weld. instead of wire brushing it i would sand blast it.

Plating is just what it says, "Plating".....You drill some holes, and bolt it up.....I'd definantly weld it too though....A local shop could do it cheaply....

Just hop on google and look up the different plating styles....and if done properly, will last as long as a normal frame...

i have had ford trucks since the early 80s mostly dentsides and i aint never seen a frame rust out like this. not to mention other than the engine oil plug all the plugs have never been out since it came from the factory. there was less than a quart in the transfercase and what came out of the tranny looked like old used motor oil. i think it set in the weeds all summer and was a plow truck at one time.

i think the salt from the first winter is still burried in the dirt, rusted metal flakes, and road crud built up on the inside of the bottom frame rails

you cut a z shape into the good part of yours, and make a matching cut in the new section, weld in and then plate

pretty good plan but make sure he welds with the grain on the frame not against it if he welds agaisnt it it will ruin the tempure eventualy breaking the frame
