Adding 2 Stroke oil to fuel?

Is anyone doing this in their 7.3? I just heard of this and wondering if it is agood idea? I currently use the Ford additive (red cap) in about every other tank.

Yep, been doing 1/2 to 1 oz walmart supertech 2 stroke per gal diesel for almost two years now.
It helps lubricate the fuel system, and quiets the injectors a bit.

I was amazed how much it affected my injector noise. I have not been running it through the winter. Just didn't know if sub-zero would have any affect.
I have an FRx on the way so I'll wait to add it until after the FRx is installed. Just to see what the FRx changes...

Hmmmm I have alot of 2 stroke oil for my chainsaw and leg dicer, (Gas powered weed whacker).
I have heard alot of good things on this, but I have also seen a couple of people claiming no good. I wouldn't mind trying this if it didn't cause any issues.

I put in 1qt (32oz)per tank, since its a Short bed that comes out to about 1oz per tank. I do it every other tank.
Is that too much, I dont know for sure but it seems to have been working well and I have been doing it for the past 2-3 years.

I have been adding a Qt of ATF at fill up. I have a 38 Gal tank and have been putting in around 25 gal @ fill up.
I think it quiets the engine down.

It helps to replace the missing lubrication that the Ultra Low Sulfer Diesel is missing these days.
Here is a chart that compares some of the alternatives.
Check number 7.
