I have used products like Mothers Back to Black. Works pretty good on the trim, if you live where the sun shines it is best to put it on heavy and park in the sun.
I use it on all of my trim including the bed caps.
How long does the Mothers last for? I tried the Lucas product no luck. I also used Fluid Film and lasted longer but still wore off sooner than I would like.
Its a product sold at .99 store. Yellow content, and with a scotchbrite bad, brings any color thats plastic, back to its shine. I use it religiously on the seadoos i service.

Guess it depends on where you live. I use it in western Washington where it rains allot. It does last longer in the summer though. I may have to apply it 2-3 times throughout the year.
Here is what I use. I like it because it looks great, lasts quite a while and isn't greasy (so it doesn't collect dirt as quickly as other products might...)
I also use their paint polish as well.
Here is a link. I think there is a video there as well.
It's real good stuff. I use it on my leather furniture as well.

Ken, I live in Washington also. X-2...is that Mothers Back to Black?
It is called Awesome, typically found at 99 cent stores. Here's a pic from the "LA Totally Awesome" site. Never used it to restore the black on plastic, but for many other things. I think it will pretty much dissolve the oxidized surface to reveal fresh black plastic. I would not get it on the paint if I were you.
