Yes, it is true ..... you can use the big-boy pumps with no restriction.

It is great.

When I had my 06 Cummins, it was always warned to stay away from big boy pumps, as the fuel is not filtered as much and you could risk getting dirty fuel. The big boy trucks (from what I read) have more filters and it's no problem for them. The whole post (very long) was written by a guy who delivers fuel to gas stations.

Now, the Cummins only had one filter (that I was aware of anyway) and I know we have two...

Any merit to this?

The "big boy" pumps that I use, and have used, normally have a 10 micron filter on the pumps. Now, the pumps I'm talking about are for the Freightliner I drive. Which only has one filter. (which is also a 10 micron filter)

So then they are relatively safe to use on our trucks I assume?

I know with the cummins, dirty fuel is a big deal.

I really don't see a problem with fueling with them. I have fueled my pickup up at a few "big boy" pumps and have never had a problem.

My only thing about fueling is "high volume" stations as best as I can find. When traveling out of my area, I try to find and fill at truck stops. And try to plan my travels accordingly.

Yeah, there has been one time I had to gamble on a station, that's why there is the extra fuel filters in the truck.

My thoughts exactly.

I have had no issues the 10-12 times I have filled up using the 18 wheeler pumps.
