The battery discharges itself into the brake circuit if the breakaway pin is pulled to stop runaway trailers.

Disconnect the truck from the trailer and test on the truck end with your multimeter. You now have to determine if it's truck or trailer fault.

well i grabbed the blue wire that wasn't connected (brilliant right!!), switched the brake and aux connection and wow! the controller lights up, pulled the trailer down the driveway and it turns to red when hitting the brakes, i can definitely feel them grab.

now to adjust the brake gain and level tomorrow.

thanks all- REPS SENT TO ALL!

Glad you fixed it! Set the level so the line on the **** is vertical even if the controller is angled, then pull the trailer and slide the lever and if it locks reduce the gain, if the trailer tires don't lock increase it until you feel the trailer tug on you. By doing this you are setting the maximum braking the trailer brakes will provide, like I said earlier the voyager is inertia based.

Happy towing.

Glad you got it braking right.

For the adjustments what I did was to raise each tire, spin it. Then adjust the same as you do on any of them.

I did this till I felt a slight drag then backed it off a pinch.
