1950's oldsmobile was my first guess but i guess is ford.

I wonder if it is a custom... or maybe they just had various styles of rockets....

It is likely an aftermarket item...hundreds of these things were sold in all shapes and sizes by JC Whitney and others. The one shown on the woody above is not stock either, but still cool. Space related stuff was real popular from mid fifties through the sixties.
Not any pickups that I know of had factory installed hood ornaments till the '70's...

Found on Hood Ornaments and Fender Lights on pg 7 of orphans. Found a few other images that match, but none of the sites lists the manufacturer. Good luck on finding more information.
