Since we are off topic.... you guys know Robbie Gould, the Bears kicker. I was his soccer coach in high school, very good player, but I take very little claim in his success, he was a hard worker and really worked to be a good kicker. He has good genes too, his Dad was an All-American Soccer player at Lock Haven University in the late 70's, early 80's.

Brig, only a person from Alaska would look forward to moving to Wisconsin. Born and raised here but I would move in a second if I could. I hate the winters and dread the summers but after reading another post a few days ago about all the nasty critters in the warmer parts of the country my thoughts about Wisconsin winters has started to mellow a little. I'd still like to find a place where I wouldn't freeze for 7 1/2 months and feel like a sauna with mesquitos the size of humming birds for another 2 1/2 months.

Garry,

You're in the area of the country I'd love to be in. Unfortunately, I married a Wisconsin farm girl whose roots are firmly planted deep in the soil on the family farm her ancestors farmsteaded over 150 years ago and she will never move and I'll have to admit she's way too good to ever leave her. I've been in the TN, KY area a couple of times and I thought it was the ideal place.

Come to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. We only freeze 6 months of the year so I hate winters too but summers are delightful with temps rarely exceeding 80 degrees. We have very few snakes (no poisonous ones), no cockroaches, and no termites. We do have those pesky black flies about a month in the spring and a few skeeters but that's about it...

These blessed temps we get here in good old 'Sconie do wonders for keeping the rif-raf away.
Heck, if the weather was nice and perfect everyday, i'd never get anything productive done anyways! Who wants to put up with signing "zip-ta-tee-do-dah " B-S everyday??

snipa, that's a pretty upbeat additude from some one who just got dumped with a foot of snow. Did you get hit, the guys on the radio said north of Hwy 33 was suppose to get dumped on last night. We got about 2" last night, way too late in the season to get snow, especially after having temps tickling 60° last week.

I apologize to the board, I should keep this truck focused.

Ahem, Snipa, did you have snow on your truck or around the garage your truck is stored in or you work on it in? There, now it's truck related.

Wow, a foot of snow around your garage that you work on your truck in? That's a decent amount, at least this time of year it won't stick around long.

We have Robins(WI state bird) killdeer, meadow larks, and ducks and geese here.

I mean, the weather has turned to the point that driving the truck is realistic!!

We'll see you when we move there!!

Hey Snipa and bobj49f2
We would love to tailgate at a game with you; one problem, I don't have a tailgate. Assume you both do? Two out of three ain't bad.

BTW: We had 2 record snowfall years followed by a record minimal snowfall record, this year a record snow fall for Nov, nothing else except late Feb. We had 2 snows of 6", the wind was 25-30 MPH each time, 180 degrees out from each other. 4-5 ft wind packed snowdrifts.

Ahem: We couldn't get the truck out of the garage!!

You people? My grandma (b: Sturgeon Bay) and mom (b: Green Bay) rooted for the Packers even after both moved to CA in 1933.

It rubbed off, even when the Hams...er Rams and Raiders were here, I rooted for the Packers. And...since there is no NFL team located in LA LA Land (at the present), rooting for the Packers is EZ.
