Just filled up after my trip. 190 miles and it took 13-14 gallons. 13.5 to 14.5 mpg. At least 180 of them miles were highway at 70 mph. I did get on it a little bit once or twice, but for being mostly highway I was still expecting a little better

If you're still using winter blend fuel, the truck is probably doing as well as can be expected. I would just enjoy it until they change the fuel over then investigate further if needed. I believe you can realistically expect another 11/2mpg to 2mpg once you get back to the summer blends.

Have you checked your brakes to make sure none of them are sticking? Especially check/lube the slide pins, it does make a difference.

I have checked the mileage on the F-450 on the last couple of tanks after changing the cps. My mileage is still 12.5, the same as it was. As mentioned earlier the truck is idling/running better. My bone stock 01' Excursion gets 16 to 17 mpg.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Thanks for the tip how can I check for sticking brakes? I have a pull to the right when braking, I was told to lube the slide pins. Was 50s last week back down to high 30s or low 40s and windy this week. Need some nice weather gotta put in a water pump too!

At 70 with your tires, what is the RPM that you are cruising at?

If you keep it under 2k (really more like 1900) you will see a difference in fuel mileage. Mine gets the best at 60-65 MPH where the RPM's are down between 1850-1900. I suppose it would be better if I drove slower, but I just cannot do that. Speeds on the highways here are 60 MPH, so a little easier to do than when they are 70.

I will try that. If I keep my speedo at 65 and about 1900 r's I will still be doing almost 70. Ill give it a shot. I am just remembering when I bought the truck it got alot better. I think its my short trips and winter blend fuel just isnt helping. Ill try it out thans for the help guys. If that aint it then maybe I can get it scanned maybe I have a weak hpop or something. Other than that it is what it is

Don't remember if it has been asked yet but have you checked for exhaust/boost leaks or for loose wires in your UVCH?

I agree with Ken. I drive 20 miles to work the first 10 miles is at(cruise on) 70mph/ 2200-2300rpms and I get about 15.2 to 15.7 mpg the next 10 miles I set cruise on at 60mph/1900 to 2000rpm and I am getting 16.6 to 17.2mpg. So I concur that if you keep the RPM's under 2000rpm you will see a increase in mileage. I am running the grey cps and just ordered the black from clay because I am hoping to cure my rough idle.

Well after going back to the grey it seems the dark grey ih one i took back out definitely made the truck smoother. Next time I take a long trip ill try the dark grey one again. If the mileage is close, which im guessing its just my short trips when the truck is cold and my speed. So i might as well put the ih cps in if its smoother and same mpg. Thanks for all the tips guys I appreciate the advice
