Well my old radiator gave up the ghost! I decided to also put a electric fan in since I was having cooling issues . I got a new aluminum radiator from 1-800 radiators. I also got a 2speed electric fan from a 95 T-bird with plug an some wiring . Now that everything is installed an running the truck runs at 180 degrees all day long . I love the fact the electric fan running on low will suck a piece of paper an hold it there on the front side of the radiator! There is always a breeze in front of the truck! Well here are some pics
Wow I really love this kind of modification it has solved any kind of cooling problem that I was having ! enjoy the pics.
That is a good fan. I believe it is the same fan that came in the mark 8. Which I know from personal experience is one of Fords Highest flowing fans. I have a few of those cars BTW.
I didn't have a welder so a friend of mine fabbed and welded the bracket for me. There were no marks 8 at work to pilfer so I got that one from the T-bird . Well I now have collected three T-bird electric fans for future projects.
Thank you 4X4Bart . The new radiator was a stock replacement .When i ordered it from work it showed up as all aluminum so I was stoked ! I saved the part numbers so I could get one for the 78 bronco that I'm building. the radiator fit like a glove.
Because I ordered the radiator from where I work I paid there cost Plus 10% .My cost was $250 . I think the list price was $349 . I have notice a little more ummph in the acceleration !
I've been researching this modification for a little while now and thought the most coveted fan was from a Mark VIII. But from what I see in your pics, the T-bird fan looks identical to the Mark VIII, even down to the mounting tab locations surrounding the fan. I am really interested in making this mod to my '79 F150 Custom 4x4.
They are the same ! It was easier to get the fan from a T-Bird then a Mark vIII here . I think its the greatest mod that I have done. I Love it !!! Will be doing the same thing to my 78 bronco that I'm building .
