22.5 on 2000 F550
hey, just wondering if the 2000 F550 is different than the 350 dually as far as bolt pattern, stud length/size or anything like that? I think they are both the same 8 bolt right? I found a set of used 22.5 AF wheels with tires but need the correct adapters, and see american force doesn't list the 2000 F550 in its application chart. Just making sure theres nothing holding me up from making an offer. THX

Wheel Adapters
Sorry for the long post. American force builds this adapter....But....they only build to order, and then they also wait for a large group of orders before they start building. It works best as a money saving plan for them but a terrible idea for those who (like myself) dont like waiting for anything (and the wait can be months before they even start making your order). Ive spoke with them a couple of times directly and getting any info on ordering is painful. I was led to believe a set of 22.5s I bought (great deal) would fit my 2000 F-550 with the correct adapter. I also confirmed this with one of AFs sales staff. He was wrong! I was told to call back in approx 3 weeks because they would start filling some orders when their material would arrive. I called back and got the same story, call in 2 weeks. Called again and then was informed the wheels I had would not work at all!!! The wheels I had were off an 08, and the much larger hubs require the wheels to be cut significantly on the inside diameter. The only way they would work is if I had a complete set made custom by a local machine shop or send them to AF, but they didnt want to do it anyway (and I wouldnt wait for them either) Before most of this info was found out I had contacted many wheel shops throughout Canada and the US and got the same response, "We have dealt with American Force Wheels in the past and refuse to do so anymore" Now I know why. On a more positive note, I have seen a couple other manufacturers that make these adapters as well (sorry cant remember the brands at this time). With these adapters (including the ones from AF) you can bolt on a standard set of 22.5s from Accuride or ALCOA. And these wheels are easy to find anywhere, even used for cheap. I believe AF is building some 22.5s that direct fit without adapters now as well. You got me thinking about the brand new AF wheels that have been sitting in my shed for the last 6 months, Maybe I should do something with them.....

Adapters
Welcome - Arrowcraft :: Helping You Handle the Road for over 30 years!
For what the adapters cost you could almost get a nice set of 19.5" direct bolt on wheels.
