Has anyone got the new RE-CALL installed?

I just received my Re-call notification from Ford stating that the wiring harness that runs over the horn mounting bracket rubs through the wires and can short out the drivers side airbag and make it deploy at any time. Has anyone else received this notice?, And how long did it take the dealership to fix if you had it done?

Well, I'll be calling my local shop today to schedule. I'll let you know how it goes.

You can call your stealership and give them the vin, they will pull the oasis and tell you if you're affected or not. Thats what i did.

had mine done yesterday. Left the truck at the shop at 8:30am, and at 10am they called and said it was ready. And I also had a new fuel filter and serp belt installed. But those weren't free.

Also along with the airbags, anyone whose driving a 2005 F-150 has a FACTORY replacement warranty on their fuel injectors up to 120,000 miles. I went in to my Ford dealership so they could see if my truck was made in the Norfolk Plant and after running my VIN they told me I qualified for a free replacement if those were to fail. FYI

So at my present 5000m a yr, I have over 15 yrs of coverage left. So I'll prob be dead, but my injectors will continue to live. Sweet!

re-call

Just had my company truck done yesterday, took 1 hour. Another identical company truck driven by a fellow employee had his air bag deploy while he was stopped at a stop sign, scratched him up pretty bad. Lucky he was stopped and not riding down the road.
My advise is to get it done if your truck is affected by the re-call.

DITTO!
My 2005 FX4 or I mean 2005 FX$, went into the dealership today, and was done within an hour or two.

If anyone needs the recall number, to see if it effects your truck... I can get that up for you.
I mean having your driver side airbag deploy when driving or parked, is probably not a good thing!!!
Tony.

INTERESTING!
My 2005 FX4 has an annoying "ticking" sound (almost like an exaust leak behind the manifold or something...
And it had the "hard start" problem in the summer (when it was real hot out in PA here). (restarting engine after a drive).

Do you know what RECALL notice number the fuel injectors was 05truckguy?
Thanks brother!
Tony.
