The first really good day of spring around these parts and I'm out driving, and I saw not one, but three dents! It's March 16th in Michigan, and these things are no newer then 31 yrs old. It's not supposed to happen. Did I mention this was in Flint, Michigan, the birthplace of General Motors?
The first was in a parking lot, rough, the second was being used for hauling scrap, rough, and the third was what appeared to be mint or VGC, gold and white Super Camper Special.
Couldn't help but think to myself how many F trucks are out there, how durable they are and how good looking they are.
I see maybe 3-4 per day on average, theres still quite a few in the south still in service, some are in bad shape and some are in good to great shape. Usually though its dd work trucks and they are still working and it shows.
A guy in my town drives a lifted 79 4wd, another guy a lil rough 78 2wd, every so often I see a couple on the road, plus my 79 and parts trucks, not to mention the many down at the mudbog!
wow guys thats crazy here in springfield il. i never see them they seem to be a dime a dozen on ebay but my self and just a few other dent lovers here in a town of over 200,000 people seem to have them plated and on the road!!
see a couple here an there round here an when they have the mud boggs here everybody brings them out an they all look in good shape. They out number the Chevies an every other brand when the mud boggs come.
kalve at our mud bogs they are deffinitly more popular but no where near street legal aka headers threw the hood, no doors, no bumpers you no what i mean any1 does who has ever been to a good old red neck mud bog haha
There's about 8-10 around here, in various conditions. I'm the only 4x4 I've seen. Most have some rust but not too bad, motors are tired but still working hard, and theres usually an elderly fellow behind the wheel. haha
