1988 F-250 7.3L pressure plate issues
Ok a friend of mine has this '88 F250 and originally it had an automatic transmission. The transmission went out and he converted it to a 4 speed borg warner out of an '84 with a 6.9L. He used the 11 inch clutch out of the '84 for a short time until he could afford a new clutch and fly wheel. He then put in a brand new clutch from NAPA and good fly wheel out of an '89. After he started the truck it ran for about 2 min and he tried the clutch pedal. It wouldn't go into gear and there was severe grinding noises. He looked under the truck and noticed the pressure plate put two holes the size of a fist in the bellhousing with several deep cuts. Anyone have any clue on what maybe missing or is there a special spacer he needs to buy other than the stock spacer? Thanks!
