5.4L Question

I have a question for you modular v8 owners. I am looking into buying a newer truck. It's a 1999 F-150 ex-cab, shortbed with the 5.4 and auto tranny. I have never had a vehicle with the newer engines in them and was wondering what to look for. It has 57,000 miles and is a very clean truck. It doesn't have a hitch or a bumper ball so I know it hasn't towed anything. What kind of problems (if any) should I look for or be aware of. I also wondered what kinda mileage this truck could be expected to get. Any help would be appreciated, Thanx in advance.

5.4L Question

Chk for head gasket leaks !( oil)
It was a common problem on that engine that year. Also beware of sparkplug blowout of aluminum head.

One other thing that can fail is pass side last coilpack on that side ,sometimes the heater hose will drip on it ,cause failure .
