Exclamation is there anyone in Indiana that can move a truck for me cheap?

I am trying to buy my first IDI and I need to have it moved from Mooresville IN to Yorktown IN. It's around 75 miles and every place I've called is at least $250 to $350 bucks. I'm only paying $625 for the truck! It was going to be $700 for the truck delivered, but the CO's trailer can't handle the weight (as soon as he loaded it the fenders were sitting on the tires).
I would like to get it moved sometime soon so I can get working on it and get it up and running again.
I will gladly cover fuel costs to and from and lunch for anyone willing to help out.

*edit* It's a 1985 F250 ext cab long bed 4x4 4spd with single rear wheels. It's not running and has a brake line leaking, so would probably require a trailer with a winch or a rollback to load it.

If somebody could move it for 250 then I would let them. I am not that far away but it would cost me that if fuel. Can you get a dolly from UHaul or someplace like that?

I could get a dolly but they won't let you pull a truck that big without an even bigger truck. The only trucks available that I could use are a 93 Chevy 1500 and 2000 S10 (niether of which will pull 6000 + lb truck). Also Uhaul checks the weight ratings on the towing vehicle and if it's too low they won't rent you one.

Mooresville isnt too far from me, but Yorktown is 73 miles directly away from me...

I'd like to help, but I dont really have the equipment for a move like that...

I think I'll have to call U-haul monday and rent a truck and dolly. I talked to one place and a local return, one day rental is only like $45 truck and $20 for the dolly. The only issue is when they get one in.

billy,

Good luck to you...unfortunately I'm way to far away to be of any help...

As an aside...have you considered joining our Indiana Chapter? Here is a link to our forum Indiana Chapter - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums we have a monthly "BS" thread where folks chat about basically nothing but we get to know other Hoosiers.

Good luck on the truck move and thanks Chris for posting this in our forum...reps to you my friend for your quick thinking and friendly attitude!

Joe.

Wish I could help, but I have no trailer.

But $250 ain't bad man, last time I was looking to get my truck towed it was gonna cost $200 hook and drop and so much every mile, but that was for a flatbed tow.

I dint know if you have AAA towing but if you don't its defiantly worth looking into. You get four tows of any vehicle with a plate on it up to 250 miles and roadside assistance for $80. It has saved me and my friends many times even if you only use it one time you come out ahead. Since the truck is not running you probably don't have plates on it but it might help out next time.

I have plates I can put on it if I have to. I'm going to call U-Haul tomorrow and see what it'll run me to rent a truck and trailer. I don't want to, but I may just have to find a different truck if I can't move it.

Call AAA. Trust me they are like gold. Throw a plate on it and then just wait.....I blew my 302 in my 89 F-150...they were good enough to send him all the way into the middle of nowhere on a pass in a blizzard. And it didnt cost me a dime....they picked the truck up...and drove us 247 miles to home....for free. AAA is the way to go on this one.
