2010 trade to 2014
OK, looking for some opinions about the 2014 f150 5.0
Currently own a 2010 f150 XLT 4.6 3v crew cab. Out of the 3 other f150's I've had this one in the shop 5 times in the 2 years Ive owned it with 136,000 miles. Hasn't been the greatest experience I think I got someones non taken care off vehicle.
I actually was thinking of trading it in for a Ram because of aforementioned, BUT hold the Ram...
I looked at a 2014 F150 XLT 5.0 with 98,000. 4th year production 5.0 and 7th year for 6R80 trans, hopefully a couple of bugs have been worked out? 5.0 decent? any big issues? It seemed decent.

I bought a 14 a couple years ago extended cab two wheel drive. Love the thing plenty of power and still around 20 + mpg. Only have 59,000 miles on it as of now since I don't drive it much. I a have no complaints and I think that the engine reports have been worked out. The only thing I need to do to it is lower the thing even two wheel drive it is to tall for my comfort getting in it in a parking space plus I think they look a little better about 3 or 4 "s lower. I am going to use the lowering kit from Bel tech as one fella on here has and his truck looks good. Mine is an STX but with a few options I am not tech savy so I don't need all the options . Good luck in which ever you choose and have fun with it.

Two years ago I was shopping for a truck. Was interested in a newer F150 (was retiring my 86 F150) and did about 6 months of research on which engine, options and bed size I wanted. Very early on I liked the 5.0, and learned about a few issues the first years it was available, but the 2014 had the fewest issues or recalls. I bought a 2014 with the 5.0 and absolutely love it. It had 77000 kms on it when I bought it, and just under 95k right now. I do have to change the o-ring in the thermostat housing, but other than changing the thermostat right after purchase, have done nothing to it.
Right before I bought my truck, I saw this YouTube video and it cemented in my mind that the 5.0 was a good decision:

bought my '14 new in '15
I've got 105k+ on the clock. No problems with regular servicing and maintenance(oil, filters, brakes and tires. The only "mods" have been cosmetic. Runs good and gets about 19 mpg (according to onboard computer)on 4hr round trip from 200ft to 9000ft altitude with some highway and winding mountain road driving. 5.0, 4wd.
