Recon & Discount
Has anyone been in touch with Recon lately to check status on the projector headlight assemblies for the '11s? Seems like it's taking these guys a while to come out with something given how long the 11's have been on the market.
Also, for anyone thinking about ordering Recon products, I just happened to click on the "Facebook Profile" link on the bottom left of their web page when I was browsing around earlier. The first FB entry mentioned 15% off of any order. Just thought I'd pass this along as any savings are helpful....

I answered my own question here by posting a question on the Recon FB page. They finally replied this evening. For those looking to eventually upgrade to projector/HID housings, seems there may be another option on the market soon. I do like the look of the Recon set-ups, just hope the headlight housings are built to last. I don't have any experience with them, but feedback on their other products seems to be pretty good. Here is the note I was sent this evening:
"Sorry Joel...this comment got lost in the shuffle until you brought ti back to the forefront. The 2011 Ford Superduty projector headlights will be available in June/July 2011. We just finalized the design and production will begin shortly....they are goona knock your socks off!!! remember to Get lit w RECON!!!"
Obviouslly this is from a marketing person who's paid to be a cheerleader for their products. Housings for previous model years have been in the $500 range (+ bulbs), which is still cheaper than some SD owners who have sent their light housings to shops to have projector kits custom installed.

I'd be interested in seeing a mockup, or even a link to ones from previous years. I like the projector setup on my wife's 2011 Explorer. It even says "Explorer" along the side of the projector lens. I don't like the height at which the beam cuts off, though... hopefully the Recons won't have that issue on the SD.
